The Bringing Sexy Back PDF Sewing Pattern

$20.54

About This Sewing Pattern

The Bringing Sexy Back has a boat neckline to highlight your beautiful collarbone or a lovely piece of jewellery. The sleeves are ¾ length but I have hacked this pattern to have short sleeves too. The ties down the back of the bodice can be swapped out for buttons, see the sewing hacks in the booklet.

The trousers are a smart tapered style, with pin tucks and a waistband for structure. Of course, the jumpsuit has pockets and the ezp™ zips for speedy toilet trips!

What Materials You Need

The pattern is drafted for a medium weight woven fabric like linen, cotton, tencel or velvet. Something between 185 - 300gsm/m². You could also use a knit or stretch fabric of the same weight. It needs to be strong enough to hold the weight of 2 zips.

Fabric requirements can be found [here].

You will also need:

  • Matching thread
  • 2 x buttons - in the samples I have used 24L/15mm buttons. If you hack the pattern to include buttons down the back of the bodice you will need more (around 5 or 6 is nice!)
  • 2 x 40cm/16” concealed zips
  • 0.5m/19” iron-on interfacing
  • Optional: The printed pattern includes pieces for the bodice facing. However, you may prefer to make your own bias binding, or buy pre-made binding.

What You Will Learn

  • How to sew concealed zips (invisible zips)
  • Rouleau tie construction
  • Stitch in the ditch
  • Side pocket with lining
  • Turning out corners
  • Stay stitching
  • Hemming
